Growth Intern
Remote / Part-Time
About Straia
Straia is the AI-native intelligence layer for higher education. We help colleges and universities make faster, better-grounded decisions across the institution, from enrollment and retention to finance and operations. We’re backed by a16z Speedrun, Reach Capital, JFFVentures, and other top edtech investors. We are based in San Francisco.
We’re looking for an intern to help us build an audience and increase our brand awareness. You’ll work directly with the CEO (Ryan) and COO (Gautam) on content strategy and execution across our newsletter and other channels.
What You'll Do
- Draft and edit posts across our channels, writing for college presidents, provosts, CFOs, and institutional research leaders
- Be the voice of what’s going on in higher ed: Turn conversations with campus leaders, product updates, and higher-ed news into a steady publishing cadence
- Own our content calendar
- Track what’s working (opens, follows, replies, inbound) and adjust
- Research higher-ed trends, policy changes, and competitor messaging
Who You Are
- Strong, clear writer: You cut filler and let facts carry the argument. You write comfortably without the voice of AI.
- Comfortable writing for a non-technical audience: Your writing style is approachable and clear.
- Organized enough to run a weekly cadence without being chased.
- High agency, independent thinker: You form your own view on what is worth writing and why, then take it from idea to published without needing step-by-step direction.
- Interest in higher ed, edtech, or vertical AI is a plus: curiosity about how universities actually run is required.
