This is a no-judgment guide for women who just left, or are about to leave, and need to know what's actually urgent, what can wait, and who to talk to. Aka: this is the guide I wish I had before I left my six-figure corporate job.
You made the decision or you're on the edge of it. Either way, you're here, and that means something.
I want to say something that the internet will not say to you: leaving your job, or even seriously considering it, is not a failure of ambition or laziness or ingratitude. For a lot of women I've talked to, it's actually the first financially honest decision they've made in years. Including myself 😊
I left my six-figure job at Google a year ago, and what nobody tells you until you live it is the sheer relief and the terror that arrive at exactly the same time. You finally feel free and then approximately four minutes later your brain goes, okay but now what…
That’s completely normal! Personal finance and money are not taught in school, and somehow, we’re expected to know how to balance our own checkbooks. I’m here to tell you that you did not make the wrong decision. It’s just the feeling that rolls over like financial fog that can feel like it’s infringing on every other decision you’re making in your life.
I’ve been through it, so I wanted to create a guide to clear it. Not by telling you to invest more, earn more, or hustle harder. But by helping you see your actual situation clearly: what's urgent, what can wait, what you actually have, and who to talk to when you need real help.
P.S. I know there are emotional components to this too, and that’s coming in part 2.
