We're building a modern daily money solution for Africa — starting with Kenya. Our mission is simple: make banking fair, transparent, and actually useful for people who've been ignored by traditional finance.
Our product suite covers daily banking, credit products, a loyalty program, and more. The local market is ripe for change: outdated systems, high fees, millions of people underserved. Our team has built and exited tech companies before (Hice Bank, Lia.Chat), and now we're creating something that matters.
Pre-seed is closed. Core team is assembled — CPO, CTO, CFO/COO, Lead Design, Lead Dev — people with proven track records.
Team & Process
Our design team currently has one senior product designer. Designers aren’t assigned to a single product: everyone works across all projects — mobile app, web app, and internal CRM.
What You’ll Do
- Design and evolve design systems based on existing brand guidelines and design system rules
- Own user scenarios from research to final mockups, and through to implementation
- Collaborate with product and business teams: advocate for design decisions and find the balance between what’s best for users and what the business needs
- Hand off designs to engineering and make sure the result meets business goals
First 3 Months
- Design and deliver key MVP scenarios to development: the payments section and all payment scenarios end to end
What We Expect
- 5+ years of product design experience
- Hands-on experience in fintech, payments, banking, or other products with complex business logic and high reliability requirements for interfaces
- Experience designing mobile and web applications from concept to release
- Experience building and scaling design systems
- Advanced Figma skills: variables, auto layout, component architecture, working with Figma via MCP and AI agents
- Comfortable working within constraints: business requirements, technical limitations
- Ability to create simple product animations and micro-interactions: enough to prototype motion and hand it off to engineering
- Portfolio is welcome, but not required. Instead, send us 2–3 screens from a live product you've recently worked on, plus a short description of that scenario — a few sentences on the problem, your role, and the outcome. We'll discuss this case together at the interview.
- English B2 or above. We work comfortably in English — no other languages required.
