Objective: To identify drop-offs and friction in the existing onboarding and align the redesign with business and user needs.
1. Where do we currently see the most user drop-offs during the onboarding flow?
Is it at a specific point, like the verification step, where users may be hesitant to verify themselves, or somewhere else? I’d like to understand the key friction points or drop-off patterns you have observed.
Answer:
The verification flow you might have seen on the platform is specific to communities. The capstone project is about designing a universal onboarding flow for AmbitionBox for a first-time user.
Within that, yes, verification has a major drop if the user is doing it manually and not through Naukri.
2. I noticed the onboarding begins with information about the community before asking about the user’s career status.
Is there a specific reason for structuring it this way? And if there’s no strong dependency, would it be okay for me to explore reordering this part of the flow?
Answer:
You can. We do it only for community-specific touchpoints, as our personalization logic currently depends on the communities a user joins.
It’s okay for you to reorder anything and everything—I’m expecting total disruption.
3. Currently, what does the company consider to be the primary user intent on AmbitionBox?
Are users primarily coming for community-driven content (like reviews and discussions), for job-seeking features, or a combination of both?
Answer:
The primary intent is to understand a company and to see salary insights.
