This Privacy Policy explains how Simple Chess Trainer (“we”, “our”, “the app”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the iOS app. By using the app, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

Simple Chess Trainer is designed to keep your chess data local to your device.

On-device only (never sent to us)

• Chess content: PGN files you import, indexed games, drill history (squares missed, lines studied, tactics seen).
• Settings: appearance preferences, piece set choice, drill configurations.
• Stats: per-session and aggregated drill statistics.

This data is stored in the app’s private container on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. It is included in your iCloud Backup if you have backups enabled for the app, but is not transmitted to us.

Information collected by third parties

The app uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy that governs the data they collect.

Google AdMob (advertising) — When the Remove Ads in-app purchase has not been made, the app displays banner and interstitial ads via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect:

• Advertising identifier (IDFA), if you have given App Tracking Transparency permission
• Coarse location (derived from IP)
• Device model, OS version, language
• Ad impression and click events

If you decline App Tracking Transparency, AdMob falls back to non-personalized ads which use limited contextual signals only.

Apple StoreKit (in-app purchases) — Purchases of “Remove Ads” are handled by Apple. We receive a transaction identifier and the product purchased; we do not receive your name, email, or payment information. Apple’s terms govern this transaction.
