FAQ

How do I start a lesson?

Tap any lesson from the home screen or the Lessons tab. The AI tutor Hana will guide you through a short lecture, followed by pronunciation practice and a quiz.

Why isn’t speech recognition working?

Make sure you’ve allowed microphone and speech recognition permissions in Settings > HanPop
Speech recognition requires an internet connection on some devices
Speak clearly and close to the microphone
Speech recognition works best in a quiet environment

How does pronunciation scoring work?

HanPop uses Apple’s Speech Recognition to listen to your pronunciation and compares it with the correct Korean. A green checkmark means you got it right. A red X means try again — you must pronounce it correctly to move to the next word.

Can I skip the lecture?

Currently, the lecture plays before each pronunciation practice session. You can tap through it quickly by pressing “Continue” on each step.

How do I reset my progress?

Delete and reinstall the app. All progress is stored locally on your device.

What languages is the app available in?

The app interface is in English, but the app content teaches Korean. App Store descriptions are available in 12 languages: English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indonesian.

Is HanPop free?

Yes, HanPop is completely free with no ads and no in-app purchases.
