Topics covered

1. Why the Brevo huge list collapsed from 55K to roughly 3K

Mira raised the core problem: the Brevo "huge list" had around 55,000 contacts, but after Mujtaba cleaned it, only about 2,900 to 3,000 remained. That sharp reduction made the current DD newsletter totals look inconsistent with David's expectations, especially because monthly sends had been discussed in terms of much larger list volumes.

2. Opens-only cleaning was judged too aggressive

Mujtaba said he kept only people who had opened emails, because he understood David's request literally and treated opens as the relevant signal. Arseni pushed back hard on this logic and clarified that clicks are at least as valuable as opens, because open tracking is imperfect and can miss people who did in fact engage.

3. Team compared Mujtaba's strict cleanup with Mohammed's softer filtering approach

Mohammed explained that he historically used platform filters in Mailchimp/Brevo but deliberately softened the cleanup so the list would not shrink too dramatically in one pass. The team concluded the methods were materially different: Mujtaba's approach appears closer to the literal SOP, while Mohammed's approach was intentionally conservative to preserve send volume.

4. Immediate operational fix: send more now, clean more carefully next

They agreed the practical fix was not to accept a 16K total send as the final answer for David. Mujtaba was instructed to send additional campaigns immediately from the recovered lists, exclude already-sent/autoresponder contacts, and let Mira finish David's report the next day with updated totals.
