1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains what data Visit Faso collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have when you use the Visit Faso mobile app and the website visitfaso.com (together, the "Service").
The Service is operated by Visit Faso ("we", "us" or "our"). You can reach us at any time at [email protected].
Visit Faso is built to be used without an account. We never ask for your name, email address or phone number to use the app.
2. Definitions
- "Service" means the Visit Faso mobile app (iOS and Android) and the website visitfaso.com.
- "You" means anyone who uses the Service.
- "Personal Data" means information that identifies you or could reasonably be linked to you or to your device. It includes pseudonymous data, such as a random identifier tied to an app installation, but not data that is truly anonymous or aggregated.
- "Event space" means the area of the app dedicated to a specific event (for example a trade fair or a festival), with its program, exhibitors, site plan, announcements and photo booth.
3. What Visit Faso Is
Visit Faso is a guide to Burkina Faso. It provides information about places to visit, events and their event spaces, a directory of local businesses, investment sectors, articles, practical travel information and the weather. Content is published by our team, sometimes with information supplied by event organizers, businesses and partners.
4. Data We Collect
4.1 Data you choose to give us
- When you contact us by email or WhatsApp, we receive your email address or phone number and the content of your message. These conversations take place in your email or WhatsApp app, outside Visit Faso.
- Your settings: the language you choose, your notification preferences, and the event spaces you choose to follow.
We do not offer user accounts, comments, reviews or uploads in the app.
4.2 Data collected automatically
- Installation identifier. On first launch, the app creates a random identifier for your installation and stores it securely on your device. It is sent with requests so we can keep your settings, your notification inbox and the event spaces you follow. With it, we store your preferred language and the date the app was last used. It does not contain your name or any contact details.
- Notification token. If you allow notifications, we store your device's push notification token, along with the platform (iOS or Android), the app version and the operating system version, so that we can deliver notifications.
