TL;DR: Download Sayso from app.asksayso.com/download. On a Mac, pick the build that matches your chip, drag it to Applications, allow Microphone and Screen Recording, then restart once. On Windows, run the installer, click through the SmartScreen warning, and allow the microphone. About 5 minutes either way.

Before you start

• Mac: macOS 13 (Ventura) or newer. Older versions will open Sayso but quit when you launch the coach.
• Windows: Windows 10 or 11.
• Create your account and pick your plan first. The download only works once you're signed up.
• Use Google Chrome for sign-up. Safari's pop-up blocker can stop the "Get started" button from working.
• Sign up with a personal email, not your brokerage email. Your login email can't be changed later, so pick the one that follows you if you switch brokerages.

Mac

Step 1: Check which Mac you have

Sayso has two Mac builds. Downloading the wrong one is the most common reason the app doesn't work.

1. Click the Apple menu in the top-left corner of your screen
2. Click About This Mac
3. Look at the Chip (or Processor) line

Chip says Apple M1, M2, M3 or M4: download the Apple Silicon build.

Says Processor, Core or Intel: download the Intel build.

Not sure? Macs bought late 2020 or later are almost always Apple Silicon. 2019 or earlier is Intel.

Step 2: Download

Go to app.asksayso.com/download, log in, and click the build that matches your Mac. The file lands in your Downloads folder.

Step 3: Install

1. Open your Downloads folder and double-click the Sayso installer
2. Drag the Sayso icon into your Applications folder
3. If your Mac asks, choose Replace. Never choose Keep Both. Two copies of Sayso fight over permissions and the app will say permissions are missing even when they're on.
4. Eject the installer when it's done copying

Install window never showed up? If you use an external monitor as your only screen, the window may have opened on a display you can't see. Go to System Settings › Displays, set the monitor to Mirror, then try again.

Step 4: First open and permissions

Open Applications › Sayso. If macOS warns that the app was downloaded from the internet, click Open.

Sayso asks for two permissions. Allow both:

• Microphone: so Sayso hears your side of the call.
• Screen Recording: so Sayso hears the prospect's side, which plays through your computer. Sayso only uses the audio. It does not record or save your screen.

When macOS asks, click Quit & Reopen. Once both permissions are on, restart your computer once so audio capture starts clean.

Step 5: Make Sayso easy to find

• Keep it in your Dock: right-click the Sayso icon in the Dock › Options › Keep in Dock.
• Find the bolt: look for the ⚡ bolt at the top of your screen near the clock and Wi-Fi icons. Click it and choose Launch Coach. Hold ⌘ Command and drag the bolt to the right so other menu bar icons don't hide it.
• Shortcuts: Control + S opens the coach. Control + B opens Playbook.
• Launch at login: turn this on in Sayso's settings so it's ready when you sit down to call.

Windows

Step 1: Download

Go to app.asksayso.com/download, log in, and click the Windows download. The installer lands in your Downloads folder.

Step 2: Run the installer

1. Double-click the Sayso installer in your Downloads folder
2. If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway. This warning is normal for new apps.
3. Follow the prompts to finish installing

Install fails or won't finish? Your antivirus is the likely cause. PC Matic and McAfee have both blocked Sayso. Add Sayso to your antivirus allow list, or pause the antivirus just for the install, then turn it back on.

Step 3: Allow the microphone

Windows asks for microphone access the first time Sayso opens. Allow it. No restart needed.

Step 4: Make Sayso easy to find

• The Sayso icon hides in the taskbar tray. Click the ^ next to the clock, then click Sayso.
• Pin Sayso to your taskbar so it's one click away.
• Shortcuts: Alt + Shift + S opens the coach. Alt + Shift + B opens Playbook.
• If Sayso closes after an update, reopen it from the desktop icon.

Some welcome videos and settings screens still say "Mac". Everything works the same on Windows.

Updates

Sayso checks for updates when it opens and every hour after that. To force an update, quit Sayso fully from the ⚡ bolt (Mac) or the tray icon (Windows), not just the window, then open it again. After a Mac update, macOS may ask for your computer password once. That's expected.
