TL;DR: Buffer Time is the delay before Sayso starts prompting after you press Start or Reset. If you press Reset the moment a new person picks up and starts talking, set it to 0 seconds. Only add seconds if you start the conversation clock before the person is on the line.

What it does

Every time you press Start or Reset, Sayso waits for the Buffer Time before it begins prompting. It's there so ringing, call-screening bots ("please state your name") and voicemail greetings don't get treated as the conversation.

Recommended setting

0 seconds, paired with good Reset timing. Press Reset when a human answers and starts talking. Prompts start right away, and nothing before the pickup gets in.

When to add seconds

In those cases, set enough seconds to cover what plays before the person is on the line. Start around 7 to 10 seconds and adjust.

How to change it

  1. Open the widget settings (gear icon)
  2. Click Cue
  3. Set Buffer Time to the number of seconds you want
