How it is scored

Twelve statements, spread across six sections. Score each one 0 for No, 1 for Partly, 2 for Yes. Twelve statements at 2 points each puts the maximum at 24.

Owner independence

• The business can run for two weeks without you in it.
• Key customer relationships are held by your team, not only by you.

Documented systems

• Your core processes are written down as standard operating procedures (SOPs) people actually follow.

Management team

• You have managers who own outcomes, not an owner doing everything.
• No single person would stall the business if they left.
