A ten-part series on the institutions that determine whether India works for its citizens and a specific, evidence-based blueprint for rebuilding each one. One citizen's attempt to turn frustration into something useful.
The Broken Foundation is a ten-part series examining the institutions that determine whether India works for ordinary citizens or just for the people who run them. Each chapter takes one institution: the judiciary, the police, elections, media, education, health, the economy, the environment, foreign policy, local governance. The structure is the same throughout: here is what is broken and the data that proves it, here is what other countries did to fix the same problem, here is a specific blueprint for India. This is not a party manifesto. It is not academic research. It is one citizen's attempt to take the frustration that most thinking Indians carry around and turn it into something useful โ a serious, evidence-based argument for what a better India would actually look like, and how to build it.
If you are new to the series, start with the Master Introduction โ it explains the core argument, political philosophy, and how all ten institutions connect.
