The working companion to Audit Your Whole Business: The 20-Minute Self-Assessment. That page explains what each department measures, what a five looks like, and which shelf fixes it. This is where you score your own business and keep the result from quarter to quarter.

The department averages, the summary, your overall score and your lowest two fill in for you. Twenty minutes if you're honest, longer if you argue with yourself.
The anchors and the numbers to watch here match the Audit page line for line. If you ever find a difference between the two, the Audit page governs and this worksheet gets corrected.

Every line gets a whole number, one through five. Use these anchors and don't split the difference.
| Score | What it means |
|---|---|
| 1 | It doesn't exist, or it's broken and everybody knows it. |
| 2 | Somebody tried. It works for a few weeks, then slides back. Nothing is written down. |
| 3 | It works when the right person is in. Who's working that day decides the result, and that person is usually you. |
| 4 | It's written down and it holds without you most weeks. It slips under pressure: storm season, a big loss, a key person out. |
| 5 | It's documented, someone other than you owns it, and it held through the last hard stretch. You'd hand it to a buyer's analyst unedited. |
Three is the number owners reach for when they don't want to say two. If every line is a three, you haven't scored yet. Score last week, with the crew you had, on the jobs you ran.

| Field quality is consistent no matter which crew shows up | A Saturday job with your third crew reads like a Tuesday job with your best crew | ||
| We can take on a large or commercial-scale loss without it falling apart | A 40,000-square-foot loss staffed without pulling every other job apart | ||
| Department average this quarter / next quarter | Add the three scores, divide by three |
Number to watch: share of jobs closed with complete daily documentation.
| Line | What a 5 looks like | This quarter (1 to 5) | Next quarter (1 to 5) |

| We collect on time and pursue the supplements we have earned | Someone chases every dollar past 30 days on a set day each week | ||
| Department average this quarter / next quarter | Add the three scores, divide by three |
Number to watch: receivables older than 60 days as a share of total receivables.
